Travellers, Take Note: Lombok And Bali Airports Are Closed!
If you're heading to Indonesia for a quick getaway this week, you might want to sit down for this as we have some bad news for you.
The airports in Lombok and Bali -- two of the most popular holiday destinations in Indonesia -- have been forced to close, according to a report by The Star Online. The closure was due to the Mount Agung eruption on Sunday which, according to experts, is growing in intensity.
According to a status update by Singapore's Changi Airport, the airports are closed until further notice:
Local budget airline AirAsia has reportedly cancelled 32 flights to and from Bali and Lombok following the eruption.
Malaysia Airlines, meanwhile, has also cancelled all flights to Denpasar on Monday morning.
According to a statement by Ngurah Rai International Airport - Bali's main airport - around 7,000 domestic and international passengers were left stranded due to the cancellations.
Mount Agung reportedly erupted three times on Sunday morning and sent a plume of volcanic ash and steam more than 6,000 metres into the sky.
The volcano alert has reportedly been raised to the highest level, according to a report by the BBC.

We seriously pray it won't come to this. Stay safe, people! :(
