First her wedding, then the infamous Langkawi trip, followed by the carpet purchasing incident and now for not wearing a mask.

Yes, you guessed it, Neelofa is in trouble again.

The latest offence is for not wearing a mask.

Yesterday, netizens were abuzz with comments about how Neelofa did not seem to be wearing a mask under her niqab when she attended a court hearing with her husband relating to the carpet buying trip recently.

According to a report by The Star, Seremban OCPD ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim confirmed that a police report had been lodged on the matter.

"A Kosmo Online report went viral on Thursday (May 20), claiming that Neelofa, who had her niqab on, did not wear a face mask when she was at the Magistrate's Court.

"We have received a police report claiming that she had failed to adhere to the Health Ministry's standard operating procedures which applies to all individuals," he said in the report.

Not adhering to SOPs

ACP Mohd Said added that the case was being investigated under section 269 of the Penal Code and Rule 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations (Conditional Movement Order) 2021.

Neelofa, whose real name is Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor was charged alone with her husband Muhammad Haris Mohd Ismail at the Magistrate's Court in Seremban on 20 May for not adhering to SOPs under the Movement Control Order.

Both pleaded not guilty for failing to scan their details via the MySejahtera app or write their particulars manually before entering a carpet shop in Nilai.

No mask.

Additionally, Muhammad Haris was also charged for failing to wear a mask at a public place at the same location.

He also claimed trial to the second charge.

Stiffer penalty for repeat offenders?

We don't know about you but we're actually sick of these two flouting regulations whenever they feel like it.

No one should be above the law.

One local celebrity suggested that the two be made to work with the frontliners (i.e. don a full PPE and attend to COVID-19 victims) and perhaps that will teach them the importance of following the SOPs.

Others have signed a petition asking for Neelofa to be jailed because she seems to be blatantly disregarding the set regulations.

More than 60,000 people have signed the petition so far.
