The latest person who has to undergo self-quarantine after coming into close contact with a person with Covid-19 is non-other than our ex-prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

News Straits Times (NST) reported that Dr Mahathir came into close contact with Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen, who is currently being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital.

We hope all is ok

“Yes, second day (self) quarantine. He is alright,” confirmed Dr Mahathir’s spokesperson to NST.

Dr M following the recommendations

Dr Mahathir, in an exclusive video screened on Buletin Utama, said that he adheres to self-quarantine.

“I adhere (to the need for self-quarantine), it is very important to overcome this matter.

“We must be disciplined and be willing to quarantined for 14 days, to minimise the risk of spreading the virus to others.

“I cannot go out, meet with anyone or shake hands, but alhamdulillah, it’s not so hard for me to do,” he said.

Hope nothing serious comes out of this!
