Two young Malaysians have done us proud, you guys!

Among thousands of applicants, Malaysians, Mohamad Khairel Adha Mohd Khairee and Nicholas Ong Yong Xen have been selected for an appointment to the U.S. Service Academies this year.

According to a Facebook post by the US Embassy in Malaysia, Mohamad Khairee will be heading to the US Air Force Academy while Nicholas will be heading to the US Naval Academy.

"Each year, thousands of young men and women compete for admission into United States Service Academies globally. This year, two candidates from #Malaysia have been selected for an appointment to the U.S. Service Academies," the embassy wrote in the Facebook post before congratulating both the applicants.

"Best of luck as they begin an adventure of a lifetime!" the embassy added.

A virtual departure ceremony via the embassy's Facebook page will be held for both Mohamad Khairee and Nicholas on June 9 at 9am.

A majestic message

Meanwhile, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah congratulated the two young Malaysians via a post on Istana Negara's Facebook page.

"His Majesty, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, expressed his happiness and pride over the success of the two of them being selected from candidates from all over the world who competed for a place in the academy."

"This success proves that we are able to compete and succeed at the international level, thus making a mark for Malaysia."

"His Majesty hopes that their success would be a source of inspiration to all Malaysians, especially the youth, to work hard and strive to achieve outstanding success in their respective fields," the post said.

His Majesty also wished them all the best.

We wish them all the best too! Make Malaysia proud, boys!
