[UPDATED] North Korea’s Kim Jong-un’s Half Brother Assassinated at KLIA2

The story of his death took a twist after it was discovered that he had been assassinated by two women while waiting for his 10am flight to Macau. According to The Star, Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said the incident occurred at about 9am on Monday.

“He told the receptionist at the departure hall that someone had grabbed him from behind and splashed a liquid on his face. He asked for help from the receptionist and was immediately sent to the airport’s clinic. At this point, he was experiencing a headache and on the verge of passing out,” explained Fadzil.

After experiencing seizures at the airport clinic, they rushed him to the Putrajaya Hospital and he died on the way. There are some discrepancies with the reports on how he was poisoned. Some cited that he was killed by poisonous needles, some said he was sprayed, while others said that he was grabbed from behind and muffled with a cloth soaked with some unknown chemical substance.

The two women who are said to be the assassinators fled the scene with a taxi and are still at large. According to The Independent, Kim had been in hiding since 2013 after his uncle, Jang Sung-thaek, was executed by his brother, Kim Jong-un.

Images of one of the perpertrators were caught clearly via KLIA2's CCTV. The woman, who was said to be a North Korean agent, was seen wearing a white jumper and short skirt queuing up at the taxi stand. Police are still investigating how her partner fled the scene.

Kim Jong-nam was said to be the next successor after the death of his father, Kim Jong-il. However, after being caught at an airport in Japan for using a fake passport to enter the country, Kim Jong-un ascended the title. Kim Jong-nam then fled North Korea and was very vocal about his family’s dynastic control of the country and how his brother had lacked leadership skills.
