If you are headed towards the Kuantan Art Street area in Jalan Besar anytime soon, you will notice a new development there.

Legendary Malaysian singer-songwriter Sudirman Arshad and another 33 Pahang icons have been featured on the walls there.

According to a report by Malay Mail, among the other images featured on the wall include a trishaw and an elephant which represents the state’s identity.

Called Project 06, the mural was drawn by 13 Pahang artists over a duration of six months.

Sudirman, a Pahang legend

Kuantan Municipal Council (MBK) public relations officer Norkamawati Kamal said that icon Sudirman deserved to be drawn on the wall.

“He recorded many achievements coupled with the fact that he was a trained lawyer, composer, writer, cartoonist, canned drinks entrepreneur and also an actor.

“In his birthplace in Temerloh, a street named Jalan Sudirman was named to remember him as he many still think highly of him up to today.”

So cool to see Sudirman and the other icons painted on the walls.

Kudos to the artists who were involved in the project!
