Malaysia memang got talent.

The wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Rosmah Mansor, came under the spotlight last week when the police confiscated 284 luxury handbags reportedly belonging to her.

Bukit Aman's Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Datuk Seri Amar Singh told reporters that among the bags seized include those from super high-end luxury brand Hermès.

In case you didn't know, Hermès bags are extremely sought-after and some are incredibly rare. They are priced at a minimum of USD12,000 (RM48,000) and can reach up to USD200,00 (RM800,000) each.

We know what you're thinking (because we're thinking the same thing too!); where on earth did she get the money to splurge on these pricey handbags?

According to this news report by Australian website News.com, the answer lies in the 66-year-old's autobiography.

Looks like a good read.
Rosmah wrote in her autobiography titled Biographi Rosmah Mansor that she bought the jewellery, clothes and handbags "with my own money".

She revealed that she's an extremely gifted accountant, hence she was able to save a lot.

Not only that, she also revealed that most of her millions came from a recording album she released when she was younger.

The album wasn't released to the public, she said in her book, but government ministers and officials were so in love with her singing talent, they reportedly bought copies and copies of the album to support her.

We doubt.
So, naturally, we were extremely curious (and shocked, to be honest!). Was Rosmah really a true bona fide singer back in the day?

We started searching high and low for the album to try and prove that she was indeed a singer, but unfortunately, we came back with nada.

That is, until we went on YouTube and actually found a video of her serenading Najib with Ronan Keating's classic love song "If Tomorrow Never Comes"!!!

If you're curious like us and you have a couple of minutes to waste, you can check the video out below. If you want to skip it to protect your ears, hey, it's fine by us.

Not only that, she even did a duet with Akademi Fantasia Season 3 winner Mawi in a song called "Lara Jiwa":

And here's another clip of her singing in front of a live audience:

And as a bonus, we also found a clip of her dancing to A.R. Rahman's "Jai Ho":

So, we guess there is some truth to Rosmah's words after all? What do you guys think? Do you guys think she actually released a music album?

If you guys managed to find a copy of Rosmah Mansor's album, please get in touch with us! We will buy you teh tarik while we hang out and listen to the album together-gether.
