It’s general knowledge that Singapore is a country even though it is small.

However, popular news outlet CNN seems not to think so.

Malay Mail reported that CNN recently erroneously claimed that Singapore was “not a country” in a COVID-19 data chart.

Oh no, they didn't!

The article that criticised the way US President Donald Trump handled the pandemic, featured a list of key countries that reported less COVID-19 cases than the White House in the past 24 hours on Oct 7.

A huge mistake

That list stated that Singapore was “not a country”.

When the news was pointed out by alert social media users, CNN removed the list from their website and acknowledged the error in a note at the bottom of the article.
