Woman Ushered Off Batik Air Flight After Refusing to Wear Seatbelt & Arguing With Crew
There's a reason so many PSAs emphasise the importance of wearing a seatbelt. While most PSAs refer to car seatbelts, that doesn't mean it's okay not to wear one when you're using other transportation, especially planes.
While most people have no problem wearing their seatbelts on the plane, one woman decided not to. To make matters worse, she also started an argument with the flight crew.
The incident reportedly happened on a Batik Air flight
According to a TikTok video shared by another passenger, the argument began when the woman, believed to be a Vietnamese, accused a flight attendant of pointing a finger at her face.
The alleged action caused her to refuse to comply with the crew's instructions to fasten her seatbelt.
Although the passenger could be heard shouting, the flight attendant stood her ground and kept telling her to wear her seatbelt for her safety and that of others.
“This is for the safety purposes of not just you but also for your child,” said the crew.
Authorities were called to intervene
As the situation escalated, the airline decided to call the airport authorities. In another video, two officials were seen trying to make sense of what had actually happened.
In the end, the passenger was escorted off the flight. Other passengers could be heard cheering as the woman was ushered off.
Many were left frustrated with the woman's action
In the comment section, many TikTok users condemned the passenger's action as a waste of time for passengers on the same plane.
“They only asked you to wear the seatbelt, it's not like they're asking you to jump out of the plane,” said a netizen.
Amid the criticism, many expressed their awe and praise for the cabin crew who had handled the situation professionally.
One commented, “Kudos to the stewardess. Thank God it wasn't me having to handle that.”
