X User Finds Maggots in Food, Complains About Being Unable to Get Refund from foodpanda

This is why you should concentrate when you eat your meal and not concentrate on your phones, folks. X user @soccpuppet recently shared her horrifying experience finding maggots in her food order.
She wrote, “I ordered food from foodpanda yesterday for me and my friends. When we got the food, one of the dishes was not a complete order - we didn’t get the rice or the fish ordered.” Socc said she issued an incomplete order on the app, but this was only issue number one.
As issue number two was definitely more pressing and disgusting, she found a maggot crawling inside the food. Socc posted a photo and video of the dish, writing, “Had to record for proof, but this is the vilest, most disgusting thing ever. My friends threw up immediately after. I reported this incident to @foodpanda_my again, but they just gave me the same automated response.”

Socc posted a screenshot of her conversation with foodpanda’s customer service, where they replied that they could not process any refund, although she didn’t get the rice set for one item. She also elaborated that she didn’t screenshot the chat about the second complaint about the maggots. Still, she received the same response, saying they would “escalate this for further investigation.” Foodpanda then allegedly replied a day later with another automated response.
Socc wrote, “Apparently unable to process any refunds or even take my complaint seriously. A living crawling maggot in our food?? Come on, this is definitely a serious health violation,” tagging their X account. Socc also shared a screenshot of the restaurant she ordered from, a nasi padang joint in Chow Kit, complaining, “Please, why is this place still running (even though they serve) spoiled food with maggots.”

Another user replied to Socc’s thread, saying, “Well, surprisingly, you are not the first case. How can this shop still operate?” and tagged the Ministry of Health’s social media page. They also posted screenshots of Google Reviews from other users who complained of being served rotten food and finding white worms in their dishes.
Socc went on to say that strangely, on foodpanda’s app, the store had a 4.9-star rating with more than 1,000 reviews.
Other X users shared advice, saying that for any food safety issues, they should report to the official X account of Program Keselamatan dan Kualiti Makanan (Food Safety and Quality Program) under KKM @bkkm_official or submit a complaint to this link.
Another X user also posted a similar complaint about the food delivery service, saying that they stopped using it in 2020 when the driver stole the food they had already paid for, and foodpanda allegedly didn’t do anything about it. “The response they gave you brings back memories,” they wrote.
