We're pretty sure that everyone's had enough of local politics for now, but one thing that we Malaysians can't get enough of (besides food, of course) is public holidays.
And this June, we'll have an extra public holiday to look forward to.

Celebrating the Agong's birthday

According to a report by The Star Online, the official birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong this year has been moved to 8 June this year, which falls on a Monday.
Chief Secretary to the Government, Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali, said in a statement quoted by the news portal that the initial date for the celebration was 6 June.
Starting this year and from next year onwards, the Agong's birthday will be celebrated on the first Monday of June, Mohd Zuki said.
Previously, the Agong's birthday falls on the last Saturday of July.
"The government has agreed that starting 2021 until the end of the reign of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, the official birthday will fall on the first Monday of June," the statement reads.
You can now start planning for a long weekend vacation, guys.
