Yep, you heard us right: you can now help Zoo Negara out by adopting some of its animals.

You can now adopt Zoo Negara’s animals via its 'Adopt an Animal' intiative for as low as RM25.

Zoo Negara deputy president Rosly @ Rahmat Amat Lana told Bernama that the public can adopt 30 types of animals and the funds will be used to take care of the animal’s needs.

In return, adopters will receive an e-certificate of adoption, as well as other complementary gifts based on the package selected.

Rosy added that the initiave has been well-received despite the movement control order (MCO) and conditional MCO (CMCO).

“We received overwhelming positive feedback as evident from the many encouraging and compassionate words shared on various social media platforms. The number of donors increased especially from April till August 2020, whereby almost fifty thousand donors donated," he was quoted as saying.

On top of that, Rosy said that Zoo Negara is hoping to expand their initiatives further, including possible live streams that allows Malaysians to interact with their favourite animals in real-time via a dedicated YouTube channel.

If you've always wanted to adopt an animal, you can support Zoo Negara's initiative by visiting the Ticket2U portal or via the Zoo Negara Malaysia online shops on Lazada and Shopee.
