You Should Really, Really Top Up Your Touch 'n Go Cards Before You Travel Next Week

If you have a habit of waiting till the very last minute to top up your Touch 'n Go card -- especially at toll plazas -- you're gonna have a bad time next week.

Highway concessionaire PLUS on Wednesday announced that effective 29 August, all Touch 'n Go reload lanes at their toll plazas will be closed.

PLUS managing director Datuk Azman Ismail said in a statement cited by Bernama that the temporary closure will last until 4 September, in conjunction with the Merdeka Day and Hari Raya Haji celebrations.

The closure of the reload lanes, according to Azman, was necessary to prevent congestion at the toll plazas due to reload transactions.

The decision was made after a previous study revealed that closure of the reload lanes during festive seasons had resulted in lesser congestion at toll plazas, Azman told the news agency.

Currently, there are a total of 134 reload lanes nationwide.

Consider yourself warned, guys. You don't want to be spending the long weekend at the Dengkil R&R because you forgot to reload your Touch 'n Go card.
