Is it just us or has the pandemic made us crave for aeroplane food?

If you're one of those who really miss having the Signature Satay on a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight, we have some good news for you.

Destination: your tummy

Last December, the national airlines reminded people of what it's like to fly on an aeroplane by selling their signature salted peanuts online (which sold out in less than two hours).

And now, they are once again tempting our tastebuds, and this time, they will be selling their signature satay.

On Saturday (20 March), MAS teased their new offering via a short video on their official Facebook page.

"Yes, you read that right. Our MH Signature Satay will be making its first delivery debut soon. Watch this space for the launch date," MAS wrote.

Just like their signature salted peanuts, you'll most probably be able to order them online and have them deliver it to your doorstep.

However, MAS has yet to reveal when their signature satay will be available or how much it is going to be, so we guess we'll just have to wait and see for now.

First class food

If you're wondering why you've not heard of MAS' signature satay before, well, that's because it is only served to First Class or Business Class passengers on long haul flights.

According to this report, the signature satay, which is available in beef or chicken, is prepared by Brahim’s Airline Catering.

Now we are hungry!
Using only beef and chicken tenderloin cuts, the satay is marinated in a mix of tumeric, lemongrass, garlic and shallots before they are grilled on an open charcoal grill.

They make as many as 26,000 sticks a day, along with 200 litres of their famous rich peanut sauce.

Boy, writing about this makes us crave for some satay. We can't wait for MAS to launch their signature satay soon because finally, we'll be able to have some first class food.
