YouTube To Ban Kids From Livestreaming Without Adult Supervision
If your kids are always on YouTube and you're afraid of the things that they are getting exposed to, this news might make you feel better.
YouTube is reportedly taking additional steps to restrict the possibility that children will be targeted by predators on the video platform.
According to a report in Reuters, the steps include banning young kids from livestreaming without adult supervision and limiting recommendations of videos that depict "minors in risky situations".
The announcement came after a report by the New York Times revealed that YouTube's recommendation system has been suggesting videos of "prepubescent, partially clothed children" to users who had watched sexually themed content.

"With this update, we'll be able to better identify videos that may put minors at risk and apply our protections" across a bigger segment of videos,” YouTube said in a blog post.
In the first quarter of 2019, YouTube had removed more than 800,000 videos for violations of our child-safety policies.
Looks like YouTube is really serious about protecting our kids. However, it never hurts to always be in the know about your kids’ online activities.
