Guys, remember Zoo Negara’s plea for help to cover its operating costs during the movement control order (MCO) period last month?
Guess what? Their plea has caught the attention of many people and they managed to raise a total of RM70,000.
Yay!
Despite that, he said the amount is not enough to cover the operating costs, which reportedly comes to about RM1 million per month.
He said the zoo is currently surviving by digging into its emergency fund which can only last them up to two or three months.

“Even if the Covid-19 pandemic heals, for the next six months or so after that not many would visit the zoo as they would need to recover their own financial setbacks.
“Please support us with monetary contribution — no matter how big or small — it will really help us amid these trying times,” said.
