At the end of the day, one team shall rise, and one shall fall.
The first ever OMEN by HP Gaming Tournament took place over the weekend, and boy, was it an intense affair.A total of 264 teams took part in the Defense Of The Ancients 2 (DOTA2) tournament, powered by computer brand HP’s latest cutting-edge laptop range – the OMEN by HP.
After a nerve-wrecking one-round knockout qualifying round using the online O.M.E.N. bracket system (online qualifier where matches are arranged automatically by the system), the field was trimmed down to four teams: CR1Stratos, genesis, play4fun and chin yun choi gaming.

In the first semi-final, CR1Stratos defeated chin yun choi gaming. In the second semi-final match, genesis then edged out play4fun to book a place in the final.

For their troubles, the five-man team walked away with a RM10,000 cash prize while genesis pocketed RM6,000. The losing semi-finalists - play4fun and chin yun choi gaming – each brought home RM2,000.
The inaugural OMEN by HP Gaming Tournament was organised in conjunction with the unveiling of HP’s brand new powerful gaming laptop OMEN.
