For most of us, our daily work schedule is slowly inching back to normal, and that means braving rush hour traffic and going back to the office.

If you're one of those lucky people who still get to work from home (we're jealous!), but you don't really want to because you've had enough of staying at home, the best place you could go is a café.

But here's the problem: despite how cosy a café is, it can sometimes distract you more than it could help you focus on your work at hand.

#1 Bean Brothers

Where: Sunway Damansara

Opening Hours: 8.30am to 8.00pm

Bean Brothers is not exactly the newest café in town, but it's definitely one of the most popular. With its spacious interior and industrial-like layout filled with natural lighting, it is arguably one of the most comfortable and gorgeous-looking cafés in town.

The people at Bean Brothers take their coffee seriously, so you can be rest assured that their coffee will keep you awake during one of those long-arse Zoom meetings. Bonus: they have free parking, and a generous amount of charging points.

How To Get There:

#2 Aether Café

Where: Taman Tun Dr Ismail

Opening Hours: 10.00am to 8.00pm (closed on Tuesdays)

You wouldn't believe this, but for a place as mature as Taman Tun Dr Ismail (or TTDI, for short), there's a little hidden gem called Aether Café tucked away, and we actually see why. The entire café, with its minimalist decor, rustic charm and ample natural lighting, just spells 'cosy'.

Aether Café serves a wide variety of healthy meals, and a mean cup of coffee too. And get this: they even have their own little garden out back so you can take a breather after your weekly scolding session meeting the big boss.

#3 ALTA Café

Where: Bangsar

Opening Hours: 8.00am to 5.00pm (closed on Mondays)

"What?! Bangsar?! You crazy ah?! Where to find parking?!" We hear you, but ALTA Café is different, because it's not located in the ever-busy Jalan Telawi area. This chill little café is located inside a small neighbourhood on Jalan Bangkung.

Unlike your usual Bangsar cafés, ALTA is small by comparison as they only have a few tables and limited standing space, but they make up for it with a cosy environment and some kick ass coffee. On top of that, not a lot of tables = less interruption = more work done = boss happy = you get to keep your job.

Their minimalist internal decor is a plus, too.

How To Get There:

#4 Grey Sky Morning

Where: Subang Jaya

Opening Hours: 9.00am to 7.00pm (closed on Saturdays)

Despite the name of the café, you'll feel anything but grey the moment you step into their outlet. Grey Sky Morning is located inside the Subang Jaya Industrial Estate (far, far away from the dreaded SS15, so parking is easy peasy), so it's no surprise that their interior decor follows that theme.

Almost the entire café is wrapped with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, so there's plenty of natural lighting for you to properly look at that PowerPoint presentation you're working on. Grey Sky Morning has two floors, so if the ground floor gets a little too hectic for you, you can head up upstairs for some peace and quiet.

#5 Bukku Café

Where: Klang

Opening Hours: 10.30am to 5.00pm (closed on Mondays)

We know what you're thinking; why would you travel out of the country just to go do some work at a café? Trust us, Bukku Café is worth driving to Klang for. This small, quiet, little café features muted tones and a very simplistic and rustic decor, making it the perfect place to do some work - or read a book or two.

The entire café is brightly lit, and exudes a very homey vibe when you step inside. Plus points: each table has a dedicated plug point for you to charge the fossil you call your work laptop, and they have their very own mini garden out in the back in case you need some fresh, Klang air.
