PM Anwar Attends Special Screening of Sheriff Narko Integriti, Praises Its Quality & Production
Following its release in cinemas, local movie Sheriff: Narko Integriti has become the highestgrossing local film of 2024, raking in RM65 million at the box office. It has been well loved by movie-goers with some people even willing to travel a long way from different states just to catch it in cinemas.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently expressed his admiration for the capabilities of the local film industry after watching Sheriff Narko Integriti during a special screening at IOI City Mall last night.
Present was his wife Azizah, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) chairman Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar.

"I have watched the movie (Sheriff) and I was impressed by the storyline, dialogues and the way it was directed. Although (Datuk Seri Wan) Azizah was concerned about the shooting scenes, but this is a movie about the police force," he said guests.
Anwar said that the government would support the local film industry to further boost its growth. "If this is the quality of our Malay film, I believe in its bright future and that the Malay film industry can compete with other films regionally and internationally," he added while urging those who haven't watched the movie to do so.
The special screening was organised by the EAIC, in collaboration with Skop Productions and Astro Shaw and was in conjunction with the ERAT (Encouraging Responsibility Accountability Trustworthiness) campaign, which aimed to raise awareness of integrity and efforts to combat misconduct such as corruption and abuse of power in the public service, particularly among law enforcement personnel.
Skop Productions was represented by Datuk Yusof Haslam and Astro Shaw was represented by executive producer, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad. The film was directed by Syafiq Yusof and features glittering names such as Zul Ariffin, Syafiq Kyle, Dato Aaron Aziz, Azira Shafinaz, and Elizabeth Tan.

According to Ismail, based on the principle of "No One Is Above The Law," which is the main message of the film, the enforcement and implementation of the law should be carried out fairly, without prejudice or compromise regardless of rank or power.
"As such, the civil servant, especially starting from the leaders, should be open and not cover up any wrongdoing within the organisation to enhance the credibility and public confidence in the public service," he explained.
The 132-minute movie revolves around Nazri, a police officer from the Narcotics Department, who starts to realise that the drug syndicate led by Tony Ifrit, involved in the distribution of methamphetamine, is becoming more and more rampant, often evading the clutches of the law during the judicial process. Nazri decides to resolve the issue himself.
Meanwhile, Sheriff, an officer from the Integrity Department, is a dedicated and insightful policeman shaped by his own past experiences. When the "Meth Killer" case gains public attention, the Inspector-General of Police assigns Sheriff to solve it, suspecting that the Meth Killer might be hiding among the ranks of the Narcotics Department itself.
