Big Stage 2: “People want to watch the hard-to-sing songs” – Siti Nurhaliza
The country’s number one singer, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza thinks that Big Stage 2 singers have only been singing songs that they were comfortable with so far.
According to Siti, this is because the contestants were given the autonomy of choosing their own songs.
“When it’s done this way, there will definitely be the good and the bad. Every singer is free to choose the songs they wish to sing, but a guideline from the production side is still needed.
“Of course, the singers would want to sing a song that they can deliver well.
“However, there is no challenge in that,” she said.
Siti, who is a permanent jury of Big Stage 2, made the statement after the first week concert at Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam.
The “Anta Pemana” singer added that the jury need to hear a variety of songs from the singers.
“As juries, we need to hear variations from a singer. The difficult songs are the ones people want to see.
“To me, this issue should be discussed by both parties to ensure a good selection of songs,” Siti added.
For the first concert, Mark Adam was the guest judge, joining Siti and Cakra Khan.
Hosted by Alif Satar and Sherry Alhadad, Big Stage 2 is brought to you by Vivo and Farm Fresh.
The show airs every Sunday at 9pm on Astro Ria (104) and Ria HD (123).
