After More Than 50 Years, Elton John Is Finally Saying Goodbye To Touring

After decades of touring, Elton John is finally saying goodbye to life on the road.

The 70-year-old singer has decided to stop travelling and focus more on spending time with his family instead.

On Wednesday, the music legend announced his final world tour called 'Farewell Yellow Brick Tour', which will span three years across the globe.

With his 50-year long career, you know this tour is going to be epic.

No matter how old you are, you must have heard at least one of John's iconic hits, like "Your Song", "Tiny Dancer", "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word", "Candle in the Wind", and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Circle of Life" from 'The Lion King'.

After all, he is one of the most celebrated and successful recording artists of all-time, having more than 60 songs charted on Billboard's Hot 100 list and nine No. 1 hits.

He also has five Grammy Awards, a Tony Award and an Oscar under his belt.

So after touring the world for more than half a century, we certainly can't deny John's retirement.

"I've been touring since I was 17 with various bands," John said, as reported by CNN. "I thought the time is right to say thank you to all my fans and say goodbye."

This final tour will take fans on a complete musical and visual journey of his career like no one has ever seen before. And he is surely planning to go out with a bang.

Beginning this September, the veteran singer will perform more than 300 shows across five continents, including North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Australasia right up till the finale in 2021.

Let's hope he will make Malaysia one of his pitstops!

However, this will not be John's goodbye forever because he will not be quitting music entirely just yet. He wants to continue writing music and make more albums.
