Ajang Golden Globe Awards 2020 selamat diselenggara pada Minggu (5/1/2020) waktu Amerika Serikat.

Pada saat film seperti Joker, The Irishman atau Marriage Story digadang gadang akan jadi Film Terbaik Golden Globe 2020, namun telahan itu meleset.

Kategori utama yakni Best Motion Picture - Drama dimenangkan oleh film perang hasil sutradara Sam Mendes, 1917. Sam Mendes sendiri dinobatkan sebagai Sutradara Terbaik.

Namun demikian, Joker pun tidak pulang dengan tangan kosong.

Akting luar biasa Joaquin Phoenix dalam menghidupkan Joker membawa ia sebagai penyandang Aktor Terbaik kategori drama. Ia menewaskan saingan lainnya termasuk Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory) juga Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari).

Sementara itu, film musikal komedi terbaik jatuh pada Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, hasil pada garapan Quentin Tarantino. Malah, Brad Pitt juga diumumkan sebagai Aktor Pembantu Terbaik di film yang pernah menjadi buah mulut tersebut.

Renee Zellweger lewat perannya di film Judy diumumkan sebagai aktris terbaik.
