It isn’t just Mazda’s smallest vehicle that got upgraded, the company’s largest vehicle — the CX-9 — is receiving upgrades, too. (Sorry, BT-50, you're large but no longer in charge.) The changes are more than just updating the badge and fonts, and fitting it with the new 20-inch wheels.

The CX-9’s interior has been redecorated. A new silver stitching finishes the black leather seats found on all three rows. Also in the list of improvements are Mazda Connect infotainment screen, auto-hold function, i-Stop seatbelt reminders for second and third-row passengers. On top of that, there are two USB charging ports for the third row.

For CX-9’s fitted with i-Activ AWD now has added Off-road Traction Assist. This new feature reduces engine torque and increases brake force to wheels that are losing traction. While that’s happening, more power is transferred to the wheels with traction to pull the CX-9 out of trouble.

Mazda’s i-Activesense, which comes standard in all CX-9, have also been given a boost. Notably, the Smart City Brake Support has been upgraded with pedestrian detection.

The Mazda CX-9 is imported from Japan at a price starting from RM319,610.40. As with all new Mazda vehicles, the CX-9 comes with a 5-year Manufacturer Warranty and 5-year Free Maintenance (except BT-50, sorry).
