Not forgetting the future of mobility, the new MINI Electric arrives with the 3 Door, 5 Door and Convertible. The new MINI Electric features a fresher design language that marks MINI's gradual transition into the next generation while proudly exemplifying the traditional MINI genes that make the brand genuinely iconic.

The new MINI Electric has a refreshed look, tying in with the brand's new design language. The curvaceous grille dominates the front fascia. The redesigned front bumpers do away with fog lamps favouring air curtains for aerodynamic efficiency. The previous 'E' badge now sits a bright yellow 'S' badge above the integrated safety bar. The classic MINI look wouldn't be completed without big beady Matrix LED headlights mounted above the grille.

The new MINI Electric also features a modernised side scuttle design that includes LED indicators and Electric-specific inserts. It continues to ride on 17-inch two-tone wheels with run-flat tyres. As an electric car, the rear of the MINI Electric is void of any exhaust pipes and has a clean and simple design. The MINI Electric include the exclusive White Silver with Black Roof and Energetic Yellow Accents, British Racing Green with Black Roof and Black Mirror Caps, or Midnight Black with White Roof and Energetic Yellow Accents.

Under that iconic body lies a very high tech bit of kit. Powered by a version of the synchronous electric motor developed by the BMW Group, the front axle-mounted electric motor is capable of 184hp and 270Nm of torque. Its unique 12-module T-shaped battery unit has a net capacity of 28.9kWh. 0-100kph is achieved in a reasonably respectable 7.3 seconds, although top speed is limited to just 150kph. The estimated range is 232km on a single charge. Although these figures pale compared to more established EV's like Tesla's and Porsche Taycan's, bear in mind that this is meant to be a city runabout with some capability for out of town runs. And for this purpose, the MINI Electric fits perfectly.

You have several charging options to juice up the MINI. When plugged in at a DC charging station, the MINI Electric only needs approximately 36 minutes to go from zero to 80 per cent charge, which is very impressive for a compact car. The MINI Wallbox Plus for home charging, on the other hand, offers an 80 per cent charge in just two and half hours, similar to recharging at a public AC charging station. The charging progress of the MINI Electric can be viewed on the inside of the charging flap, on the Digital Instrument Cluster or via the MINI App.

The revitalised interior of the MINI Electric is a breath of fresh air with new cockpit décor panels, a new multi-functional steering wheel and redesigned air vents that integrated better into the overall design. Ambient lighting strips further accentuate the décor panels adding to the overall atmosphere of the cockpit.

The MINI Electric comes equipped with an 8.8-inch MINI Navigation system that also features Concierge Service, Intelligent Emergency Call, MINI Online, and Apple CarPlay. The compact hatch is also equipped with a heads-up display and a unique 12-speaker 360W Harmon Kardon sound system. Another new feature of the MINI Electric is a digital instrument cluster, displaying essential driving info such as charge status, remaining range and MINI Driving Modes, among other things.

Being an electric car, MINI Electric comes with its own fair share of state-of-the-art features. The Green Driving Assistant (GDA) provides useful onboard functionalities, such as the Range Assistant that presents different solutions to the driver in low-battery situations, reducing range anxiety. The nearest charging stations will be a priority display on the navigation system.

Additionally, The MINI App serves as a universal interface between the customer's smartphones and the vehicle. Among the features in the MINI App include remote access to vehicle charging status, range, Remote Services to locate the car and lock or unlock the doors. Customers can also send navigational directions such as charging stations from a smartphone directly to the vehicle, as well as turning on the air conditioning system in the car remotely.

The MINI Electric comes as standard with the camera-based Driving Assistant system, with pedestrian detection and city braking function. Parking Assistant, adaptive cruise control, and Lane Departure warning are also part of the Driving Assistant safety suit.

As part of the MINI Electric ownership, customers will be able to enjoy MINI Malaysia's 5 Years Roadside Assistance programme, with a comprehensive list of services that include a 24-Hour, 365-days-a-year Accident and Help on the Phone and On the Spot Hotline, Free Towing Service, Replacement Vehicle, Seamless Mobility, Accommodation, Mobility Services Solutions as well as Repatriation services.
