BEHIND THE WHEEL
Toyota Will Help Keep Your A70 And A80 Supras Alive
As the new GR Supra continues to divide opinion like pineapples on pizza, Toyota hasn’t forgotten its roots and the very cars that elevated the Supra name to god-like status in the car community. Just before Tokyo Auto Salon, Toyota has announced that it’ll remanufacture certain components for the A70 and A80 Supra models under the GR Heritage Parts programme.
Fortunately, this will be a global initiative and not just limited to Japan so owners anywhere can get their hands on the parts that will be branded as genuine Toyota components. You’ll be able to order them from Toyota dealers.

Parts that are under the initiative comprise propeller shaft, door handles, fuel sender gauge, weatherstrips and front emblems for the A70 while the A80 will get headlights, door handles and the brake booster reproduced.
If you’re lucky to be at the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon, you can catch some of the components that’ll be on display though the dates of availability still aren’t confirmed yet. Just like prices of the A70 and A80 Supra, the parts pricing will probably cost a bit of cardiac arrest.
