Lamborghinis aren’t affordable; that’s the whole point. Those who shell out big money to buy a Raging Bull want to feel special and unique, not come across like every other Tom, Dick and Harry on the road in a quicker Perodua Myvi.
However, don’t let your bank balance or the exclusivity of these Italian stallions hold you back from your ambitions of owning one. There are plenty of affordable Lamborghinis around, such as this Xiaomi Ninebot GoKart Pro Lamborghini Edition or even a digital stamp.
Heck, if you want to assemble your very own there’s the 3,696-piece 1:8 scale Lego Technic set of the limited-edition Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. All not quite the real deal but now Lego and Lambo have come up with something that truly resembles the real Sian FKP 37… but you can’t buy it.
Both companies have created a 400,000-piece version of Sian FKP 37 in a 1:1 scale that even measures up exactly like the actual car. That’s 4,980mm long with a width of 2,101mm and a height of 1,133mm.
A team of 15 engineers from both sides took 8,660 hours to complete the 2,200kg replica; from development to construction.
Lego even had to mould 20 parts specifically for the build aside from the 134 different elements used.
Of course, the build comprises some really special bits as well. These include body panels constructed from an intricate fabric of bespoke interconnecting hexagonal Lego Technic elements that pays homage to the hexagonal cues in Lambo’s design language.
Reflecting the Sian’s epsilon headlights and the hexagonal taillights are parts constructed entirely out of Lego Technic bricks. Peering inside the cabin, you’ll notice the steering wheel is constructed from Lego bricks as well with the Lambo logo. All switchgear and the seats were made specifically for the build.
There’s only one component on the car that isn’t made of Lego bricks; or rather eight… the wheels and tyres. The replica rides on the actual wheels wrapped in real Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres.
It’s not for sale, so don’t bother asking.
