16yo Labuan Girl to Represent Malaysia in China’s The Voice 2024

As reported by The Star, the 16-year-old impressed the judges with a soulful rendition of ‘Hua Kai Wang You’ (transliterated title) by Chinese singer Zhou Shen.

According to Brittany’s brother Bryan Goh, it was her vocal coach from China signed her up for the competition. She is among the first batch of participants on the show and auditions are still ongoing. She is also currently the only Malaysian in the competition according to Bryan.

Speaking to The Star, Brittany said she didn't think she would qualify for the next round. “I felt surprised when I was chosen because I never expected it. It’s my first time standing on such a big stage. I’m looking forward to gaining new experiences and trying things I’ve never tried before,” she said.

Brittany started singing at the young age of four and has already participated in numerous singing contests. She previously won the special gold award at the 2018 Chinese Festival Dream China in Guangzhou, according to her brother. She also clinched scooped up the gold medal at the 2019 Hong Kong International Youth Arts Festival.

Brittany is currently attending school in Labuan and will stay in her hometown until the production team for The Voice 2024 calls her up for the next round.
