Whether you’re celebrating 14 February solo or with your S.O., there’s no better time than this season to watch some romantic K-dramas.

We’ve compiled a list of a mix of new dramas that are coming your way this month and a few favourites for your viewing pleasure. Snuggle up under some blankets, order your favourite Korean fried chicken, and hit the ‘play’ button!

Our Blooming Youth

We’ll watch pretty much anything with Park Hyung Sik in it and he’s already displayed how well he pulls off a hanbok in his previous drama ‘Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth’ alongside Park Seo Joon and BTS’ V.

‘Our Blooming Youth’ is a historical drama about Crown Prince Lee Hwan who suffers from a mysterious curse and a genius girl (played by Jeon So Nee), who is accused of being the culprit of the murder of a family. They fall in love as he saves her from being falsely accused and as she saves him from the curse.

Love to Hate You

Love-hate relationships? A romantic comedy? Count us in! This drama is about a woman who really hates losing to men and a man who harbours a deep mistrust of women who then experience warlike love and find themselves healed through the experience.

Kim Ok Vin plays a rookie lawyer at the entertainment law firm Gilmu who detests losing to men while Yoo Teo plays the character Nam Kang-ho, a Korean A-list actor who deeply mistrusts women.

From the trailer, we’re already anticipating their electrifying chemistry and romantic hijinks from their very first hostile encounter. It’s also interesting to note that they mention Michelle Yeoh here!

Release date: 10 February 2023 on Netflix.

Call It Love

Lee Sung Kyung entertained us last year as she tried desperately not to fall in love with a top star in ‘Sh**ting Stars’, while Kim Young Kwang captured our hearts with his charms in the heart-warming movie ‘On Your Wedding Day’ alongside Park Bo Young.

This romantic melodrama web series is about a woman whose life takes a downward spiral when she finds out about her father’s affair but instead finds herself falling in love with his mistress’ son.

Their emotional romance begins as she tries to take on revenge but finds that he is too pitiful to be her target. It will also star Sung Joon, Kim Ye Won, and EXID’s Hani.

Release date: 22 February on Disney+ Hotstar.

Strong Girl Do Bong Soon

This is yet another show starring Park Hyung Sik but the ZE:A member’s chemistry with Park Bo Young in this 2017 hit series was such that fans are still hoping that the duo will get together.

As K-dramas typically portray female characters as damsels in distress, this show was a breath of fresh air as Do Bong Soon was born with superhuman strength and becomes the unlikely bodyguard to the CEO of a gaming company.

She may be pint-sized, but she can lift two full-grown men at once and even stop a bus. This romantic comedy’s mix of fantasy, thrills, a love triangle, and Do Bong Soon’s hilarious family members make us want to watch it again and again!

Watch it on Viu.

100 Days My Prince

Another sageuk that’s guaranteed to make you feel all mushy on the inside, this 2018 drama starred EXO’s Do Kyung Soo as Lee Yool the cocky Crown Prince who disappears from the palace for 100 days, loses his memory, and finds himself falling in love with a peasant, Hong Shim. What will happen when the prince regains his memories?

Do Kyung Soo is known for his acting chops despite being an idol actor and the show is insanely binge-able, with top-notch comedy and a well-plotted story.

Watch it on Netflix.
