One of the most anticipated Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi is now finally available for viewing on Disney + Hotstar!

The character played by Ewan McGregor is an obvious favourite among fans and the announcement of his comeback sent shockwaves across the fandom. Given the critical reception of The Mandalorian, you can tell how excited the fans were to see Obi-Wan again after so long.

The first two episodes are now up on the Disney + app and things are already heating up on the 2nd episode. Beyond that, here’s what we want to see throughout the season.

Darth Vader vs Obi-Wan lightsaber duel

Fans went ballistic when Disney announced the castlist for the series that includes one very familiar name for Star Wars fans: Hayden Christensen. The actor, who played Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader, received a mixed bag of response based on his performance in the prequels but ultimately, fans would love to see another legendary duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and the prodigal son, Darth Vader himself, hopefully similar to the iconic battle on Mustafar.

Likeliness of Happening: Very likely

Reason: There is no way Disney is going to end this limited series without a proper send off

The return of Qui Gon Jinn

Aside from Darth Maul and his double-bladed lightsaber, another character that really got both old and new fans hooked was Master Jedi Qui Gon Jinn. Played by Liam Neeson, Qui Gon Jinn played a crucial role in introducing Anakin to the Jedi Order (We all make mistakes, okay?). Before parting ways with Master Yoda after the events of Order 66, Obi-Wan claimed that his master returned from the netherworld of the Force - and he will attempt to make contact with him for guidance. Seeing Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor in the same scene again? A fan can dream.

Likeliness of Happening: Maybe

Reason: Qui Gon will already be returning for Tales of the Jedi - so there is a small chance that the character will be introduced in this series

Darth Maul cameo

Okay we get that Episode I may not be the most exciting Stars Wars film of the prequel trilogy but lets admit it; the final lightsaber duel between Darth Maul and Obi-Wan was memorable. Since then, Darth Maul was casted out of the Sith, abandoned and left to survive on his own as the Emperor shifted his attention to Count Dooku and later Anakin Skywalker as apprentices. Will Darth Maul return and battle Obi-Wan once again? Time will tell.

Likeliness of Happening: We Don’t Think So

Reason: Star Wars: Rebels provided a fitting end to Obi-Wan and Maul’s rivalry. Unless, Kathleen Kennedy has other ideas…

Cal Kestis’ first live-action appearance

If you’ve played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, then Cal Kestis is not a foreign name for you. Cal was originally a Jedi-in training under the tutelage of Master Jaro Tapal before the events of Order 66. The game explores Cal’s story in his search for other force-sensitive younglings across the galaxy. According to Star Wars, the game’s sequel; Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, takes place around the same time as Obi-Wan’s series. Is this a coincidence? We hope not.

Likeliness of Happening: Less likely

Reason: It took awhile for Star Wars to bring a character like Ahsoka Tano to live-action TV so it’s quite unlikely that they’re going to do it for Kestis. Sorry guys.

What Happened to the Clones

The animated series Clone Wars and Bad Batch shed light on the lives of the Clones, putting side characters like Commander Cody, Captain Rex and Fives into the limelight. Obi-Wan, who was formally a general who led the Clones on the frontlines, was hunted down by his trusted Clone friends on Episode III. Will the likes of Rex return to aid his former brother in arms? We shall see.

Likeliness of Happening: Likely

Reason: We already saw Temuera Morrison reprising his role as a clone in the second episode. Who knows if one of the surviving Clones from Clone Wars or Bad Batch will appear?

The limited series is now available for streaming on Disney + Hotstar.
