Avengers: Infinity War is already breaking opening weekend records all over the world, even in Malaysia!

The latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) now holds the biggest opening weekend in the country, bringing in a whopping RM33 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As it turns out, Marvel's massive team of superheroes got more fans excited compared to the group of street racers from The Fate of the Furious (Fast 8) who set the previous RM27.5 million record last year.

Sorry guys, street racers can't save the universe from Thanos.
If you've seen the film and read all the raving reviews, you'll know why Infinity War quickly became a Malaysian favourite because we still can't stop talking about it.

At the moment, Malay Mail reported that Furious 7 released in 2015 is at the top of Malaysia's highest-grossing film with RM60.6 million and it is also the only movie that surpassed RM60 million locally.

Since Infinity War has already smashed the global box office, earning a total of USD640.9 million (RM2.5 billion) during opening weekend alone, we're not surprised if it tops the Malaysian box office as well once the movie has run its course.

Shooting down all 'em rivals!
Malaysia is not the only country that couldn't get enough of the Avengers because the movie also holds the best opening weekend in Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, the Phillipines as well as its home country.

Mind you, Infinity War hasn't opened in Russia and China, a.k.a the second largest movie market in the world, just yet. So the numbers are still rolling in for Disney and Marvel Studios!

Now can they just release the next Avengers already because we can't hold our breaths much longer!
