Marvel Studios dropped a new 30-second trailer for Avengers: Endgame at the Super Bowl and it’s more intense than the entire DC Universe.

Sorry, DC fans. It had to be said.

In case you didn’t know, the trailers we’ve seen so far are only footage taken from the first 20 minutes of the film.

This surely comes as no surprise because the director brothers Joe and Anthony Russo are so good at teasing fans without giving away too much.

Ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally coming to an end in a couple of months. Albeit short, the TV spot that was just released at the Super Bowl is sufficient to quench our thirst for now.

So without wasting any more time, here’s a quick breakdown of the latest trailer release of Avengers: Endgame that will leave you with a thousand more questions in your head.

The heroes we lost

We didn't feel so good watching this.
The new trailer starts off with a quick flashback of all the heroes who vanished following Thanos’ snap, including the Wasp, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. This was a heartbreaking and mind-boggling reminder to how Avengers: Infinity War ended.

New York City looks dark and gloomy

Is this what Doomsday looks like?
The shot of New York City in the trailer after the snap is probably what most places would look like after an apocalyptic episode. No sign of life is seen anywhere throughout the city and skyline, which will send shivers down your spine should it ever happen in real life.

Post-snap support group

Coping With Loss 101
Next, we see survivors of the snap that have decided to form a support group to cope with the loss, a feeling we can only imagine. However, rather than seeing regular civilians sharing their trauma and grief, we see Steve Rogers sitting amongst the group. He is also seen without his Captain America costume, clean-shaven, perhaps feeling utterly broken and hopeless.

At least he decided to shave.
But as a voiceover in Cap’s voice saying “some people move on, but not us” plays on, we know that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are not ready to accept this harsh new reality. At this point, it has also been speculated that the only way to undo what Thanos did is to literally undo it by what many believe to be some sort of time travel action to alter history.

Tony Stark and Nebula are together

Could there be another Iron Man suit in the making?
It is finally confirmed in this new trailer that Iron Man and Nebula are stranded in space together onboard the Guardians’ spaceship. The first trailer left us wondering how will these two be rescued because, if we remember correctly from Infinity War, nobody really knew where they were. But here, we find out that Tony and Nebula might just figure out a way to rescue themselves as they’re seen building or fixing something.

Where is Rocket?

You better take the raccoon seriously.
Rocket the raccoon is the only surviving member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Why exactly did they choose to keep Rocket alive in the first place? Probably his skills and knowledge of the entire universe will come to play. In this first glimpse of him in Endgame, we see him entering a cabin or cottage of sorts. To know where exactly he is or if he is alone, it is near impossible to tell.

Black Widow has longer hair

They managed to make her look different in every Marvel film.
Another proof of time jumps throughout Endgame, besides Captain America’s beard, is Black Widow’s hair. She is now seen donning a tied-back braid while training for target practice at what appears to be the Avengers headquarters. We hardly see Natasha training at all throughout the franchise, so with the angry yet determined look on her face, you know she means business.

Ant-Man and War Machine suiting up together

This time, they're not battling each other.
Ant-Man is back with the team! We first saw Scott Lang cross paths with the Avengers back in Captain America: Civil War, and that was when he first met Rhodey while fighting on opposite sides in the famous airport scene. In this shot, we see them working together, obviously preparing for yet another battle. The only question is when and how did Scott find the remaining Avengers?

Where is Thor?

Could this be Thanos' new home?
Next, we catch a glimpse of Thor with Stormbreaker in hand. At this point, he could be anywhere in the universe because his new weapon has the ability to summon the Bifrost, which allows him to transport anywhere. In this trailer, he looks to be in Wakanda, judging from the view of the greenery and architecture. He could also be attempting to find Asgardian survivors at the mercy of Thanos’ good deed.

Another look at Hawkeye

We're sorry for your loss.
By now, we know that Hawkeye will be adopting a new identity in Endgame as Ronin. Despite being absent from Infinity War, the comics suggest that he went dark after his wife and kids vanished post-snap. It is difficult to say where he found himself in this shot, but safe to say, he is no longer the nice Clint we knew.

Captain America’s final strap-on

Watching this leaves us holding back our tears.
Following the distraught ending of Captain America: Civil War, Steve Rogers had thrown away his shield after “breaking up” with Iron Man. But we all felt the jolt of excitement watching Cap strap on his shield once again. However, notice how his right hand trembles just before his pulls on the strap? Could he be injured or plain anxious? Whatever it may be, this scene suggests that some epic battle is about to go down, with or without Thanos.

The new Avengers line-up

Where are the rest of the Avengers?
Finally, the trailer comes to a close with the new Avengers walking through their superhero bunker, namely Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Rocket, Ant-Man and War Machine. The missing ones in this line-up appears to be Hawkeye, Iron Man and Nebula (who could still be lost in space), and Hulk or Bruce Banner.

As with all Marvel trailers, the studios could have cleverly edited out the actual characters or background in the scene on purpose to keep things under the wraps. So as much as we would love to spend all day dissecting the trailers, this is as far as we can get.

Now, if you haven’t seen the heart-pumping new 30-second trailer, what were you doing this whole time?! Watch it now:
