When was the last time you left a cinema after watching a local action film that made you go: 'Whoa, that's one crazy action movie!'.

To be honest, we can't really think of any, because local action films have always been a hit and miss: some have passable plot lines, but horrendous action scenes and some have good action scenes, but a bad plot.

The closest we came to having a bona fide action movie was 'PASKAL: The Movie'. It has a good mix of plot and action, and the key scenes will have you holding on to the edge of your seat.

If you're longing for a good action flick, there's some good news for you: the same team that made 'PASKAL' has promised that their next action movie will be even more badass than 'PASKAL'.

'WIRA' follows Hassan (Hairul Azreen), who returns to his hometown after a long stint in the army. His return, however, has a more sinister reason behind it: he plans to rescue his dad Munas (Dato Hilal Azman) and his sister Zain (Fify Azmi) from the grasp of evil kingpin Raja (Dain Iskandar Said).

Of course, things don't go according to plan, as Hassan and Zain get themselves into more trouble.

We've reviewed the movie (you can read our honest review here), and we thought it was an absolutely terrific action movie, especially for a local production.

And it wasn't just us who thought that, as Malaysians who've seen the movie also have nothing but good things to say about the movie.

Here's what Malaysians have to say about 'WIRA':

'WIRA' is now showing in cinemas nationwide, so if you haven't seen it already, don't lose out!

Go and grab your buddies, and have a fun night out.
