Keluang Man Cast Revealed, To Begin Shooting in April 2024
The long-awaited Keluang Man live action movie finally has its cast. After teasing the making of the film in 2022 and releasing an open casting call for the leading man, Astro Shaw has finally announced the official main cast for the Keluang Man movie.
Nas Muammar Zar is Keluang Man
The 40-year-old actor first shot to fame in the film KAMI released in 2008 and was last seen in Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa. Speaking about the casting, the director of Keluang Man, Anwari Ashraf revealed that
"After careful consideration and deliberation across over hundreds of candidates, including both acclaimed actors and fresh faces, it was clear to us that Nas Muammar Zar is the KELUANG MAN that we were looking for. Nas’s natural aura and personality closely resembles Borhan, so much so that we didn’t hesitate to cast him for the role.”
Keluang Man supporting cast
Besides Keluang Man, Remy Ishak will star as the antagonist Shamsir, Anwaar Beg Moghal as Inspektor Sahab and Datuk Rosyam Nor as Ahmad. Datuk Rosyam Nor notably returned to acting after a 10-year hiatus in the Astro Original series, Jack Yusof.
Keluang Man to start filming 2024
The movie is in pre-production right now and filming will begin April 2024 for 2 months provided there are no significant issues during production. From now till then, Director Anwari revealed to Rojak Daily that the crew will undergo training to bulk up and stunt training with Anwari's stunt collaborator Reza Shukor.
Reza was the stunt coordinator for the immensely popular Projek: High Council so the film reunites the duo. We hope the same energy in the fights from High Council will return in Keluang Man (and we think the gratuitous topless fight scenes might return too).
On top of the gym and stunts, the actors will also undergo rehearsals for the actual shoot. We wish the team all the best and we hope for a superhero movie that Malaysia can be proud of! Go Keluang Man!
