KevJumba Is Back On YouTube After A Four-Year Hiatus
'Nice guy' KevJumba is finally back on YouTube!
Remember when skits ruled YouTube instead of gaming videos and Carpool Karaoke? Remember Nice Guys, Agents of Secret Stuff, and Friendzone? This was a time when Nigahiga was pulling in 10 million views per video and alongside him was one of the few YouTubers who pioneered the vlog movement on YouTube: Kevin Wu, or as you know him, KevJumba. The 26-year-old's last video on YouTube was posted on 27 September, 2013 titled, 'Lazy Me - Ep 5 "Meet Horny". Since then, the only explanation that has surfaced was from Kevin's blog at monk.college.
The blog has since been privated but in it he wrote that he decided to go back to college and study Buddhism. One of his last Instagram posts featured children chanting "Hare Krishna".
Last week, KevJumba posted this video explaining part of his hiatus:
He was hit by a car and had to be hospitalised for 45 days. His father then moved him back to Houston to look after him. It is implied in the video that at one point, he had lost his spirit and that he was "...in a bad place".
The above video titled 'Hope" was followed up by a show reel that states that he is finishing college as a Digital Media and Creative Writing student.
In the description of his 'Kevin Wu Reel' he said that he wanted to "continue my passion and vow to acting. Thank you to the fans who have continued to see me grow in different forms. Expect to see comedy videos soon as well."
His channel has been rebranded as 'Kev' and there's one comedy sketch up already titled 'Texting 101'.
We missed you Kev! You heterosexual bear wrestler.
