KUASA is the latest offering in Astro’s push towards mainstream adoption of a locally-produced television series and premiers 11 April, 9pm on Astro Citra or On Demand at Astro GO.

The 8-episode series follows the drama-ridden exploits of Tan Sri Dhameer, the patriarch of the Wira Entertainment empire and his three children who are fighting to become the sole heir of the business.

Things begin to unravel when Tan Sri Dhameer receives a career-ending diagnosis and his children begin to suspect that something is amiss.

Produced by Astro Shaw and long-time production partners, Skop Productions, the series marks the fifth production to debut in Astro’s Premium Series offerings behind Kampong Pisang Bersiri-Siri, Projek: Anchor SPM, iTanggang, and Dukun Diva.

The series creator, Shamin Yusof revealed to us that the idea for the series came to her when she heard the song Kuasa by Joe Flizzow feat. Azlan & The Typewriter in 2020.

She began writing the story arc immediately, but due to the pandemic, it would take two years before the pitch was accepted and pushed into production. Final production took a total of 50 days.

KUASA stars Ridzuan Hashim as Tan Sri Dhameer, Ning Baizura as his wife, Puan Lily, and his three children Darius, Delilah, Dharma, are played by Nazim Othman, Nadia Brian, and Izzy Reef respectively.
