Calling all XBACKS and EXO-Ls, Lay is coming to Malaysia! Not only that, our country will be the first stop for his tour ‘Zhang Yixing GRAND LINE II: INFINITE LANDS’ before dropping by Singapore.

The Chinese superstar, who is also known as Zhang Yixing, is not to be confused with the famous potato chip brand *just kidding*, although he has actually acted as its spokesperson previously.

Fans can catch Lay this 15 October 2022, 8.30p.m. at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting and look forward to a more intimate concert than the ones that are usually held in KL as the venue has a seating capacity of approximately 5,000.

This will be his first time performing in the country as a solo artist and first offline concert since 2019 but he has also previously performed here as an EXO member. His previous solo tour had limited stops in China and Thailand.

Hailing from Changsha, China, the 30 year old performer is multitalented proving that he is adept at rapping, music producing, singing, acting besides having intense dancing skills. The dimpled entertainer that has been affectionately nicknamed by fans as ‘little sheep’ has also proven his star power by placing in the top 20 on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list for multiple years.

He first gained recognition for participating in Star Academy, a Chinese television talent show in 2005 as a child before debuting as part of the sub-unit EXO-M, part of the K-pop mega group EXO that went on to become a household name in South Korea and is worth an estimated US$1 billion this year.

He remains a member to this day but has not been fully active since 2015 when he founded a personal agency for his solo activities and music releases. This year, he announced that he would be departing from SM Entertainment but would still remain as a member of EXO.

Some of the top celebrities in China are Luhan, Z.TAO, and Kris Wu who also debuted as part of the group. Lay has also made his U.S. debut, with his second album Namanana debuting at number 21 on the Billboard 200, making him the highest ranked Mandopop artist on the chart.

Among his hit songs are ‘NAMANANA’, ‘Sheep’, and ‘Honey’, which will be performed during the concert, besides songs that will be performed for the very first time. Wow, this means Malaysian fans will be getting an exclusive look!

Fans lost their minds today when the star himself posted the news on his social media, asking fans to “get on the boat”. We can’t wait!
