It looks like 2021 is the year to tie the knot as a few local celebrities are either planning to get hitched or have tied the knot recently.

And one of them includes popular singer, Elizabeth Tan.

The "Knock Knock" singer surprised fans on Sunday (21 March) after photos and videos of her getting married in a church went viral on social media.

Despite that, the 28-year-old did not admit nor deny the news, but instead, she left a vague statement on her Instagram page saying that if she does get married, she will "pick someone who is supportive of her career and fans".

Nonetheless, after some clever detective work by netizens, it turns out that Tan indeed tied the knot with Siew Jim, a 30-year-old businessman.

She then finally cleared the air and told Harian Metro that the video and photos were indeed legitimate.

Lizzie and her husband.
"The video and the photos of me getting married are real. The ceremony yesterday (March 20) was very intimate and was held according to (CMCO) SOP. There were only about 10 close family members and friends present," she told the Malay daily.

"I'm sorry the news of my marriage went viral before I was able to share it myself. I planned to share the news when I'm ready. I didn't want to make a big deal out of my wedding."

It's real, boys...

Malaysians are heartbroken

On social media, netizens reacted hilariously to Elizabeth’s marriage, with some saying that they are heartbroken that their crush has suddenly tied the knot.

Others joked that with more and more celebrities getting hitched by the day, there will be no one left for them.

Congratulations to Elizabeth and husband! May your marriage be blessed for all eternity.
