Marvel Drops Original ‘Ant-Man’ Cast Member From Third Film Following Sexual Abuse Allegations
Marvel is currently working on a slew of films slated for the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and that includes ‘Ant-Man 3: Quantumania’.
All the familiar faces from the franchise are expected to return, including Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer.
However, one original cast member will not be returning for the third installment of ‘Ant-Man’.
Three stooges no more
According to The Hollywood Reporter, rapper T.I. will no longer be part of the ‘Ant-Man’ cast following alleged sexual abuse cases.Several women have recently come forward to speak up against T.I. and his wife, musician Tiny.
An attorney representing 11 alleged victims accused the couple of crimes including sexual abuse, forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, kidnapping, false imprisonment, intimidation, assault and harassment.
Both T.I. and his wife "strongly deny" the allegations made by these women and the couple's lawyer has issued an official statement on the matter.
"Clifford (T.I.) and Tameka Harris (Tiny) deny in the strongest possible terms these unsubstantiated and baseless allegations. We are confident that if these claims are thoroughly and fairly investigated, no charges will be forthcoming."
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. previously plays Dave, one of Scott Lang’s drivers or henchmen alongside Michael Pena (Luis) and David Dastmalchian (Kurt).
Following the allegations, VH1 has halted production of the reality show ‘T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle’ last month.
No word yet whether there will be anyone replacing him in ‘Quantumania’.
‘Ant-Man: Quantumania’ is set to premiere in cinemas in 2022.
