First Lady Michelle Obama just made her appearance for her final State Dinner at the White House. She’s been dressed to the nines for the high-profile banquets every year, sporting Vera Wang to Brandon Maxwell, so for her sartorial finale, she ended with a gigantic bang – a chainmail Atelier Versace gown.

The shimmery rose-gold number features an asymmetrical neckline and draped details at the bodice. Pick your jaws off the floor and then grab the tissues because she looked unquestionably radiant in that gown.

The State Dinner was held Tuesday night at the White House in honour of visiting Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife, Agnese Landini, proved to be a bona fide gathering. With Mario Batali in the White House kitchen, Gwen Stefani as their entertainment for the night, and Obama confidently saluting a famous Italian fashion house, our favourite first family is going out on a high note.

"I am humbled and uto have the opportunity to dress the first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. Thank you, Michelle, for all of the things you have done for America and for the rest of the world, for the women in the United States and the rest of the world," said designer Donatella Versace in a statement.

The floor-length sleeveless ensemble sparkled from every angle and showed off Michelle’s superbly toned arms as she posed for pictures.

“Today is bittersweet for Michelle and I because this marks the final official visit and state dinner of my presidency,” President Obama said earlier in the day. “But it’s OK. We saved the best for last.”

The dazzling event comes ahead of the final presidential debate on Wednesday, October 19, between presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
