Do you guys remember watching 'Hannah Montana growing up? We used to love the series starring Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Earles, Mitchel Musso and others.

Which teenager didn't dream of secretly being a rock star, right?

On the show's 15th anniversary, Miley Cyrus wrote a sweet note to 'Hannah Montana', thanking the character that kick-started her career.

An important part of her life

"Hi Hannah, It's been a while. 15 years to be exact. Since the first time I slid those blonde bangs over my forehead in the best attempt to conceal my identity. Then slipped into a puke pink terry cloth robe with a bedazzled HM over the ❤️. I didn't know then…that is where you would live forever.

"Not just in mine but millions of people around the world. Although you are considered to be an "alter ego" in reality there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glovette than I did in my bare hands," the pop star wrote.

In the two-page letter, Cyrus shared some of the most memorable events in her life - good and bad.

Hannah Montana was an icon. She spoke about taping herself singing "Rock n Roll" in her mother's friend's kitchen, losing her much loved grandfather when still a part of the show, falling in love for the first time and getting her first period on set.

"I experienced falling in love for the first time in those years. Embarrassingly started my period in a pair of white capris of course on the day a 'cute guy' was cast + asked to have lunch with me. Instead I spent it in the bathroom with my mom sobbing + scrambling to find a pair of fresh denim."

Cyrus went on to thank her co-stars, including her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, who also played her father on the show, her mother, grandmother, Disney and fans.

"Not a day goes by I forget where I came from. A building in Burbank, California with a room full of people with the power to fulfill my destiny. And that they did. They gave me you. The greatest gift a girl could ask for. I love you Hannah Montana," Cyrus wrote.

Not only did Cyrus pen the letter that made so many feel nostalgic, she also sent flowers to the cast of 'Hannah Montana', guests on the show and friends.
