Spongebob and Patrick may have stolen Squidward’s thunder on many occasions, so we’re happy to know that Nickelodeon and Netflix have reportedly partnered up to create a Squidward spin-off.
According to The New York Times, Netflix and Nickelodeon have signed a massive multi-year deal to produce original animated feature films and television series based on the lovable character.
The upcoming Squidward spin-off will be reportedly be a “music-based project” so could this possibly mean that we’ll finally get to see Squidward play his clarinet in peace?
Will we get to witness him leading his own marching band like in the episode ‘Band Geeks’?
Only time will tell until we find out more about the aspiring musician’s spin-off show but what we do know is that we’ll be getting is plenty of meme-able content!
As a child, we couldn’t really fathom why Squidward was constantly bitter and hated his jovial neighbour but now that we’re all grown up, we can agree that we relate to him on spiritual level which is why we’re really looking forward to his well-deserved, long-overdue spinoff.
