It has become the new norm for Disney and other major production houses to adapt what was once an animated film into live-action remakes.

And the latest film to get the live-action treatment from the mouse house is ‘Pinocchio’.

New era Pinocchio with new surprises

According to Entertainment Weekly, the beloved classic 1940 animated film will have a fresher take and even the introduction of new characters.

Now imagine this but in a live-action setting...
Tom Hanks is set to play the woodcarver Geppetto, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will voice Pinocchio, Cynthia Erivo will play the Blue Fairy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will voice Jiminy Cricket.

Also joining the cast are Luke Evans as the villainous (and terrifying) Coachman, Keegan-Michael Key as the sly fox Honest John, and Lorraine Bracco as the voice of Sofia the Seagull, a new character.

The live-action adaptation is set to start production this month in the UK and will be released on Disney+.

No word yet on when they plan to premiere the film.

Talks about the remake have been floating around since 2015, so we guess Pinocchio’s dream of becoming real boy is finally coming true.

So, how would you feel on the idea of watching a live-action version of ‘Pinocchio’ soon? Exciting? Mildly disturbing? Hope the CGI will turn out good.
