Oh No, ‘Spider-Man’ Will No Longer Be Part Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe
It seems like Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man’s predicament may last longer than he expected.
After losing his mentor/father figure Tony Stark, Spider-Man will now possibly lose his whole extended Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) family.
According to Deadline, Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige will no longer produce any ‘Spider-Man’ movies in the future after both Disney and Sony Pictures failed to reach an agreement on their co-financing stake.
‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ recently became Sony Pictures’ highest grossing movie of all time, surpassing ‘James Bond: Skyfall’.
In case you’re wondering why both production giants can't come to terms with each other, well, apparently Marvel has been receiving only five per cent of your friendly neighbourhood superhero’s movie earnings.
So, Disney wants to level the playing field by asking for a 50-50 co-financing arrangement but Sony declined the offer.
Sony is confident that they can do well without Marvel or Feige given their new track record.
Naturally, fans were crushed over the news because it also meant that ‘Spider-Man’ will no longer be part of the MCU in the future.
Take a look at some of their sad (and hilarious) reactions:

My man Tony Stark did not give up his life by snapping Thanos and his army away and give up his one chance to stay with his family for Sony bitch ass to remove #SpiderMan from the MCU and The Avengers. pic.twitter.com/RBaeJKXD3W— Yoongi's Cheek Enthusiast (@producer__myg) August 21, 2019
Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye, also voiced his disappointment in this decision via his Instagram account.#Tomholland looking at twitter today to see that Sony is pulling SpiderMan from MCU. pic.twitter.com/xybllg7gZo— gavin (@gibbygr8) August 21, 2019
As for Tom Holland’s (a.k.a the best Spider-Man to date) fate, Sony has planned two more films post- ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ in which Holland will be reprising his role as the web-slinging hero.
Well, let’s hope that Disney and Sony will get along and eventually figure something out. It’ll be really heartbreaking to no longer see Spider-Man in any MCU crossovers, or not having any relations to any of its characters.
Guess Spider-Man has been 'Far From Home' all along. *cries*
