This year, Neelofa surely didn’t shy away from the spotlight as she’s been making headlines consistently from week to week.
Last week, the TV host became a hot topic once again after allegedly crossing state borders to buy some carpets with her husband, Haris Bin Ismail, or known as PU Riz.

From Langkawi to Nilai

Yeay! Dia tak sedar2 lagi??@InjangNation ada sepatah dua kata?#DengkiKe ? Aah dengki! #apamasalahsaudara ? Sebab kau boleh rentas negeri beli karpet! pic.twitter.com/c0j7Gw5rad— Emylia Izzati (@IzzatiEmylia) May 2, 2021 The pair went to visit Naeem Carpet in Nilai 3 and reportedly spent over RM10,000 on high-quality Iranian carpets.
According to Malay Mail, the investigation paper into an alleged standard operating procedure (SOP) violation by the celebrity couple is in its final stages.
Negri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusop was quoted as saying that the investigation paper was referred to the office of the state deputy public prosecutor on Thursday (6 May), but was returned. “This is because several elements require further action,” Datuk Mohamad said.
“We are currently updating the investigation paper before a further decision is made.”
The highlight of the story: the employee doesn't even know who Neelofa is. On 4 May, the newlyweds, as well as the owner and employees of Naeem Carpet, were summoned by the police to get their statements recorded.
An employee known as Hussein said that Neelofa’s actions has gotten the store nationwide attention overnight but it also has its consequences.
“(Neelofa’s) actions have caused problems and the police came by the shop yesterday morning to take statements,” said Hussein.
Interestingly, the rug store employee didn’t even know that Neelofa was a celebrity until her shopping spree went viral.
Both Neelofa and the store worker posted photos or videos of their encounter but deleted them soon after it attracted attention.
Neelofa and her family members were previously fined RM60,000 in total for flouting COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during her wedding and work trip to Langkawi.
How much do you think she will be fined after this if found guilty?
