Every time someone mentions Sonic The Hedgehog, it will bring us back to our childhood days playing the video game or watching the TV show.

The speedy hedgehog was an influential part of our childhood and watching him run through those golden rings gave us a sense of satisfaction, and also inspired us to go out and run like him.

So, when we heard that they were making a live-action movie of the blue creature, we were absolutely stoked!

Will you watch it?
A few days ago, the trailer finally dropped… and we were mortified.

How dare they disrespect the iconic 90s cartoon character?! The live-action Sonic looks like a deranged skunk high on drugs or a mutated lab experiment gone wrong.

You can watch the trailer below but be warned, you can never unsee it.

The trailer currently has over 392,000 dislikes (and counting) – which is more than the total of 'likes' - which illustrates just how disgusted the fans are with it. Just read the comment section and you’ll agree too.

However, the movie may have a tiny beacon of hope, a savior that may help attract the crowd to the cinema – Jim Carrey.

The legendary actor plays Dr. Ivo Robotnik/Dr. Eggman, an evil mad scientist who also happens to be Sonic’s archenemy.

Jim Carrey's back!
Many fans agreed that if they ever get around to watching, it will be solely because of Carrey.
