2020 has been a very unkind year to us so far and also to Marvel fans as this marks the first year without any Marvel films since 2009 thanks to COVID-19.

We may not be able to catch ‘Black Widow’ or ‘The Eternals’ this year but we are getting plenty of news updates about upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films including ‘Spider-Man 3’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a fellow member of the Avengers will be appearing in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man 3’.

Meet your new mentor.
Benedict Cumberbatch is set to reprise his role as Doctor Strange in the third installment of the film and will act as a mentor to Peter Parker, replacing Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man.

Peter Parker will have a new father figure in the upcoming flick and things will definitely get more interesting with Strange hanging around him.

But the surprise doesn’t end there; ‘Spider-Man’ villain Electro played by Jamie Foxx will also make a comeback although he’s originally from another cinematic universe that includes Andrew Garfield in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’.

Remember Electro?
So Doctor Strange’s appearance in this film will help shed light on Electro’s return as he has the power to explore alternate realities and timelines.

‘Spider-Man 3’ is set to start filming this month as well as Doctor Strange’s next standalone film – ‘Multiverse of Madness’.

The untitled third installment of ‘Spider-Man’ is slated for premiere in December 2021.
