Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise is no stranger to action movies, having starred in dozens of them since he made his acting debut in 1981 (!!).

He is also known to perform his own stunts, even some death-defying ones we saw in his 'Mission Impossible' franchise.

And when we mention the 'Mission Impossible' franchise, the image of the 58-year-old running away from an explosion, running away from a collapsing building or generally running from problems, comes to mind.

Apparently, if you're a co-star, there's a set of rules when it comes to running next to Cruise - you can't.

Co-star had to show her worth

He does run a lot, doesn't he?
According to entertainment website Screenrant, Cruise reportedly told one of his co-stars that nobody is allowed to run next to him on-screen.

The interesting nugget came from actress Annabelle Wallis, who starred alongside Cruise in 2017's 'The Mummy'.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wallis recalled the day she asked Cruise if she could run alongside him in one of the scenes, and Cruise flatly said no.

"He’s on a different level, and, you know, I ticked a box. I got to run on-screen with him, but he told me no at first.

"He said, 'Nobody runs on-screen [with me],' and I said, 'But I’m a really good runner'," the 35-year-old actress was quoted as saying.

It took a lot of convincing.
Wallis wouldn't take no for an answer, so she reportedly had to 'audition' for a running scene by orchestrating a work out every time Cruise was in the gym.

"So, I would time my treadmill so that he’d walk in and see me run. And then he added all these running scenes. So, that was it," Wallis told the entertainment website.

Wallis said being able to run next to Cruise was akin to winning an Academy Award.

"It was, like, better than an Oscar. I was so happy! (Laughs.) I was so happy that I got to run on-screen with Tom Cruise," she was quoted as saying.

Well, good on you, Anabelle Wallis! We guess all your training paid off in the end.

Oh, speaking of Anabelle, the same The Hollywood Reporter interview also caused sort of like a mini panic around the world:
