America’s Next Top Model has been running for 23 seasons and the show’s creator and long-time host Tyra Banks had only missed being on the show only once.

However, the supermodel has decided to return to her familiar spot, in front of the camera, once again in the new season.

Banks will be replacing Rita Ora as the host after having spent the last cycle in the backseat as an executive producer. She had previously tweeted how much she had missed the one-of-a-kind supermodel reality TV show she helped create.
"I'm overwhelmed and humbled by the intensity of the ANTM fan base whose deep affection for the show led me to have a change of heart," Banks said in a statement, as quoted by E! Online.

"After giving it a lot of thought, I realised that remaining behind the camera wasn't enough because ANTM is woven into my DNA."

Banks’ fellow ANTM executive producer Ken Mok also thanked Ora for her hard work and dedication in the past season.

"Tyra has always been the heart and soul of the franchise and her absence was deeply felt by our fiercely loyal fans who missed their Queen of the Smize," Mok said in the statement. "We'd like to thank Rita Ora for being a great partner and total pro. She infused this new iteration of ANTM with passion and creativity and we wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors."
