[VIDEO] Disney's 'Raya And The Last Dragon', Which Is Written By A Malaysian, Gets First Trailer
The COVID-19 has, sadly, affected the film and entertainment industry.
For almost an entire year, scores of Hollywood blockbusters have seen their release delayed, with no signs of when or if they'll be released in cinemas.
But in 2021, some of the most highly anticipated movies are slowly being released in cinemas or on streaming services.
One of them is Disney's latest animated film: 'Raya And The Last Dragon'.
The House of Mouse has finally released release the first trailer for the highly-anticipated animated movie.
An epic adventure

'Raya And The Last Dragon' takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity.
Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.
However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

Made by a Malaysian
If you didn't know already, 'Raya And The Last Dragon' is the brainchild of a fellow Malaysian. The animated movie was written by Adele Lim, who also wrote the hugely successful 'Crazy Rich Asians'.
According to Lim, she had to keep the good news under wraps for so long, "my family thought I was lying when I said I was working for a Disney feature animation!”
Lim told the audience that the look and feel of 'Raya & The Last Dragon' is inspired by Southeast Asia, so who knows, maybe we'll see a Malaysian reference or two in the movie.SO happy to finally share our very secret baby at #D23Expo - that crowd and energy got us all tingly... #RayaAndTheLastDragon #DisneyAnimation https://t.co/Z4NO5dzsSQ— Adele Lim (@adeleBlim) August 25, 2019
'Raya And The Last Dragon' is tentatively set to be released in cinemas on 4 March, and for countries that have Disney+ (jealous!), it will be premiering on the streaming platform on 5 March.
Now, who else is excited as we are?
