What We Know About The Cast Of Disney's New 'Mulan' So Far
This revelation came after a year-long search to find the perfect Mulan and the Chinese actress is nothing short of that.

She defeats all cultural stereotypes and transforms into a female warrior who is just as capable as her male counterparts.
Since Liu got chosen to portray the iconic character, fans around the world have been waiting at the edges of their seats to find out who will fill in the blanks of the rest of the cast.
Now, Disney has finally heard our cries and revealed a few more names who will be joining the lineup and we must say, the star power is massive.
Firstly, Donnie Yen of Ip Man fame has been selected to play Mulan's mentor, Commander Tung. This will mark Yen's second big-budget project with Disney after starring in the studio's first Star Wars standalone Rogue One.

Next, remember the main villain in Mulan, the scary-looking Shan Yu? Well, for the live-action remake, we're excited to report that Disney has cast a female villain instead.
But of course, we're not talking about Shan Yu as a woman lah because that would be wrong on so many levels. I mean, have you seen Shan Yu?

And finally, Jet Li is pretty much set to play the emperor of China who orders troops by gathering one male from each household.
Based on first impression, we assume that we may not be able to see the veteran martial artist in action since the emperor doesn't actually go to war.

Our only question left now is, will there be a love interest for Mulan? Hello? Did everybody forget Captain Shang?
